  • Jose is the son of a German father and a Colombian mother, both parents separated and he lives in Colombia with his mother and from time to time visits his father in Germany. He lived his childhood surrounded by both languages and traditions so he communicates fluently in both languages; therefore, he celebrates both German and Colombian customs depending on the time he is with his parents.

  •  Natalia lives in Canada, she was born and lived in Peru but moved to Canada for a job opportunity. She does not understand the language nor does she know how to communicate properly, however in the community where she lives there is a large presence of Spanish speakers and she interacts with them to improve her English; these people are mostly from Mexico and from time to time she celebrates their traditions and customs with them.

  • Sofia was born to Colombian parents but raised in the United States. While she primarily speaks English, she also understands and practices Colombian customs and traditions. She celebrates Colombian holidays, enjoys Colombian cuisine, and feels deeply connected to her Colombian heritage.
